Irene is a veteran, who served in the Air Force during 9/11. She has worked for Collier County for 20 years and has been with CCPL for 3 of those! I sat down and asked Irene a series of questions, here are her answers:
What’s your favorite book?
Irene: “Anne of Green Gables by Lucy M. Montgomery.”
What’s your favorite memory at CCPL?
Irene: “Creating fun videos for the great Summer Reading Program here!”
How would your co-workers describe you?
Irene: “Talkative, kind, and energetic.”
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Irene: “Eyes on the back of my head! I’m a mom, so that would be extremely useful!”
What’s your favorite library?
Irene: “Naples Regional Library, I remember going there when I was in high school to study!”
Next time you’re at Headquarters Library or see Irene at an outreach event, make sure to say hi!
All Together Now. Kindness Grows!
The summer reading program at all Collier County Libraries is off to a great start! We have over a thousand children registered for our program and they have read over five thousand books. Keep reading until July 31st to receive pocket prizes and be entered into weekly grand prize drawings.
Did you know that we are also taking our books and summer reading activities on the road to Collier County Parks and Recreation summer camps? It’s a great partnership that lets kids that can’t get to the library have the fun and books brought to them.
Thank you to our Friends of the Library for providing exciting programming this summer and pocket prizes. Thank you to the Women’s Club for providing beautiful sticker books as prizes. Thank you to our local restaurants for their generous donation of food coupons. These include Chick-Fil-A, Taco Bell, and McDonalds Adams Foods Group.
