From: Connecticut's Beardsley ZooA Note from the Zoo Director:
Hello Everyone,
And Happy New Year! We look forward to continuing the great successes of 2023 into the new year. We have an action-packed calendar of projects and events this year so be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date with all things Zoo!
Like every year before, the Zoo continues to grow and evolve. Since our founding in 1922, from being a place where animals were simply viewed as entertainment or an oddity, over many decades our Zoo has become a home for endangered, threatened and vulnerable species, with a mission of conservation, education, a great guest experience,
Our goal is to instill a sense of wonder for the wild world, engage guests of all ages with the beauty and power of the animals in our collection, and encourage all of us to do our part to protect the lives of endangered species and endangered places.
We could not do all that we do without the support and generosity of many many community members and partners. We are grateful for the financial contributions, sponsorships, time devoted by our volunteers, corporate giveback days, in-kind donations, and all the ways individuals, businesses and organizations interact with us.
We look forward to continuing to create curiosity, build memories, and shape the next generation of explorers!
See you at the Zoo!

Extreme Makeover: Eagle Edition!
The Zoo has been home to bald eagles for over 40 years. Our current resident eagle, Kodiak, has been in a temporary habitat for the past year to lessen the impact of environmental concerns. This temporary habitat will soon be removed as construction gets underway for the Zoo’s multiyear tiger renovation. This makes our ask a time sensitive matter. Your support today will allow us to makeover a new habitat for Kodiak.
Visit Our Tropical Greenhouse
Enjoy a visit to a tropical paradise at our Victorian Greenhouse. As you stroll through, you can see several plant species flowering, and feed our colorful Koi fish in their pond. It’s a short walk through another world. Free with Zoo admission.
Amur Leopards' Birthday
