Homecoming Week wraps up Saturday, Oct. 26 with free sailing, paddleboarding or kayaking at the CSUCI Boating Center from 10 a.m. to noon. The entire family is welcome to come enjoy free watersports along with a picnic, music, and on-land games for landlubbers. All safety gear and instruction will be provided.
The Central Mall at CSUCI comes alive from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday with a street fair featuring food, music, a classic car show and entertainment, including the rock band Ozomatli among other entertainment.
“We will have food trucks, rock climbing walls, human Foosball, and we’ll have a deejay opening for a local band called The Remedy,” said Director of Orientation and Engagement Programs Ariana Robles, who co-chaired the Homecoming committee with Director of Career Development and Alumni Engagement Amanda Carpenter.
Homecoming Week is about affinity, connection, spirit and tradition, according to CSUCI Vice President for Student Affairs Eboni Ford Turnbow.
“It’s been extremely rewarding to see this vision become a reality for our campus,” Ford Turnbow said. “What’s even more exciting is I know this is only the beginning. Five years from now, it will be the premiere experience for our students, faculty, staff and alumni. Once a dolphin, always a dolphin!”
