From: Cultural Alliance Of Fairfield CountyStanding Together for the Arts in Challenging Times
Dear CAFC Members,
As we navigate the evolving landscape of arts and culture in 2025, the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County remains steadfast in our commitment to support and advocate for our vibrant community. Recent federal policy shifts have introduced new challenges, particularly concerning funding and support for arts initiatives.
Notably, the Trump administration's recent executive orders have led to significant changes affecting the arts sector. These include the dissolution of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), which has historically provided crucial support to museums and libraries nationwide. Additionally, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has seen a reorientation of its funding priorities, with restrictions placed on programs focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
These developments underscore the importance of our collective efforts to sustain and promote the arts within our communities. The Cultural Alliance is actively working to identify alternative funding sources, provide resources to our members, and advocate for the value of arts and culture in society.
We encourage all members to stay informed and engaged. Your resilience and creativity are vital as we continue to champion the arts in Fairfield County.
