Heartland Signal: “In 2016, Erickson Wrote a Blog Post Calling Planned Parenthood a ‘Mass Murdering Organization’”

PENNSYLVANIA — This weekend, David McCormick plans to campaign with Erick Erickson, a fellow anti-choice Republican, who has called Planned Parenthood a “mass murdering organization” akin to “our Auschwitz” at Erickson’s conference in Atlanta, according to new reporting from Heartland Signal.

Heartland Signal: David McCormick to attend conference hosted by right-wing pundit who called Planned Parenthood ‘our Auschwitz’

  • Pennsylvania GOP Senate candidate David McCormick will attend a conference on Saturday in Atlanta hosted by far-right radio host and blogger Erick Erickson, who has a history of using inflammatory rhetoric about abortion and women.
  • Erickson is a conservative political commentator and radio host who previously worked for CNN and Fox News. In 2016, Erickson wrote a blog post calling Planned Parenthood a “mass murdering organization” and labeled the organization’s president Cecile Richards to infamous Nazi doctor Josef Mengele.
  • The year prior, Erickson contended that Planned Parenthood is similar to a Nazi concentration camp, calling the organization “our Auschwitz.” He also claimed that “extinction is not enough. They want to make money off the slaughter.”
  • Erickson’s event is the latest example of McCormick surrounding himself with far-right extremists. In April, he attended a fundraiser with Jan. 6 organizer and former gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano. In addition to being a strong opponent of abortion, Mastriano was criticized for touting a Christian nationalist platform during his failed bid for the governor’s mansion in 2022. Despite this extreme behavior, McCormick stated that he and Mastriano had become friends.
