DEADWOOD, S.D. (06/27/2023) - According to statistics released recently by the South Dakota Commission on Gaming, Deadwood’s overall gaming revenues were up 5.29 percent over May of 2022, with slot machine handle increasing by 6.02 percent, when compared to May of 2022. The table game handle decreased by 8.80 percent when compared to May 2022. Deadwood’s sports wagering handle was up 71.61 percent when compared to May 2022. Deadwood gaming operators rewarded players with $1,547,101 in "free-play" for the month of May, leaving taxable adjusted gross revenues of $12,587,134 for May of 2023.
"Another great month for Deadwood gaming,” said Mike Rodman, executive director of the Deadwood Gaming Association. “What a great kick-off to the summer season. May’s performance puts us up 3.69% YTD over last year and every indication is that it will be a year for the record books.”
Deadwood’s summer season of entertainment is in full swing with numerous events and concerts scheduled for July and August.
