Deadwood Gaming Revenues
Down in November, Sports Wagering up 20%

DEADWOOD, S.D. (12/23/2022) - According to statistics released today by the South Dakota Commission on Gaming, Deadwood’s November 2022 gaming handle was down 5.47 percent over November of 2021, with slot machine handle decreasing by 5.29 percent, when compared to November of 2021. The table game handle decreased by 11.29 percent when compared to 2021 November’s table game handle. Deadwood’s sports wagering handle was up 20.05 percent when compared to November 2021. Deadwood gaming operators rewarded players with $1,402,878 in "free-play" for the month of November, leaving taxable adjusted gross revenues of $9,531,180 for November of 2022.

"We continue to see our 2022 numbers yo-yo back and forth with last year’s revenues currently within 0.06%,” said Mike Rodman, executive director of the Deadwood Gaming Association. “Sports wagering continues to grow in popularity and bringing additional visitation to Deadwood.”

The recently released 2022 fiscal year report showed gross gaming revenue for Deadwood was $144,138,671, a record year.
