Dedham Fire to Host September 11 Memorial Ceremony

Members of the community are invited join us for the annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at the Dedham Fire Headquarters located at 26 Bryant Street on Wednesday, September 11, at 9:45 AM. The Dedham Fire Department is conducting this ceremony in remembrance of the victims of the terrorist attacks that took place on September 11, 2001.

This solemn event honors the lives lost and the bravery shown on that tragic day 23 years ago in New York City, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania, as well as the United States Service Members and First Responders who have lost their lives since that date.

The program for this event is consistent with ceremonies hosted by fellow Fire Departments and Public Safety Teams across the Commonwealth and is in keeping with recommendations from the Massachusetts Division of Fire Services as a sign of solidarity and unified support for all first responders. The Remembrance Ceremony will include the following:

9:55 a.m.

- Apparatus roll out of bays to appropriate location in front of the Fire Station

10:00 a.m.

- All available Fire Department personnel and guests assemble at attention in front of the apparatus and maintain silence
- Ring Bell 5 – 5 – 5 – 5 (4 sets of 5 chimes each)
- Lower flag to half-staff
- One (1) minute of complete silence
- Firefighter’s Prayer
- Ring Bell -5 – 5 – 5 – 5 (4 sets of 5 chimes each)

We hope to see you there to pay tribute and reflect together as a community.
