Delaware Democratic National Convention Delegates Unanimously Vows Their Support to Vice President Kamala Harris for Presidential Nomination

Last night, the Delaware Delegation to the 2024 Democratic National Convention met virtually. During the meeting, Delaware’s delegates voiced their appreciation for Joe Biden’s years of leadership in the First State and consequential presidency.

After careful consideration, the Delaware Delegation joined President Biden, Senators Tom Carper and  Chris Coons, and Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester in backing Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic presidential nomination. Of the vote of support State Chair Betsy Maron stated

“While many in our delegation were looking forward to re-electing their longtime friend and fellow Delaware Democrat, Joe Biden, they also understood the courageous choice he made.  Joe shares a special bond with Delawareans. Today, we strengthen that bond by following his lead in backing Kamala Harris for President. Joe recognized that Kamala is uniquely qualified to be President on day one, having been in the room for many of the administration’s key accomplishments. Our delegation’s unanimous vote of support is an acknowledgment of that fact. Our Delaware Delegation is eager to support Kamala Harris at the convention and ready to work as hard for her victory as they would for Delaware’s favorite son.”
