Last night (Sep 17th) during a forum in Prince William County, 7th Congressional District Republican Nominee Derrick Anderson refused to answer a simple “yes” or “no” question asked by the moderator: “Do you support a women’s right to choose?”

Instead of answering the question, Anderson said: “I support the states to be able to make those decisions that best fits those states.”

When the moderator asked the same basic question again, for a second time, Anderson said: “Look, I’ve answered the question twice now.”

Anderson knows his extreme position on reproductive rights is out-of-step with Virginians in the 7th District, which is why he is hiding it.

“Virginia women deserve to know whether Derrick Anderson would support their right to choose,” DPVA Chairwoman Susan Swecker said. “As he continues to try to hide his extreme anti-choice views, Virginians won’t be fooled – they know the minute Republicans have the chance, they will try to ban abortion nationwide and limit access to birth control and IVF. Virginians deserve a representative like Eugene Vindman who has made it clear since day one that he will be a champion for reproductive freedom.”
