Let's get moving! Join us for National Family Health and Fitness Day on Saturday, June 10 from 9:00 AM - 12:00N at Hunter Park! Participants will be able to register for the "Wellness Walk" as a family or individually. Steps and distance will be captured thru the Outwalk App. Door prizes will be up for grabs.
Douglasville Parks Selected as a Finalist for the National Gold Medal Award
We are thrilled to announce that Douglasville Parks and Recreation has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious National Gold Medal Award by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). The National Gold Medal Award recognizes excellence in long-range planning, resource management, and innovative approaches to delivering outstanding park and recreation services with fiscally sound business practices.
Youth Basketball Camp
Registration closes July 7
This week-long camp will introduce the fundamentals of the sport of basketball. Participants will learn various skillsets, communication, and teamwork through different drills and fun activities. Most of all the participants will get to have fun in a social and competitive setting through basketball. Register here.
2023 Hunter Park Fall Baseball
Registration is open now until August 4
We welcome players (girls and boys) ages 3-14 to join us for the 2023 fall season of Youth Baseball at Hunter Park. Opening day is scheduled for Saturday, September 9. Registration is open at HERE. Scholarships are available through our Dare 2 Play program.
Dilessa's Performing Arts Camp
Camp is June 26 - 30 from 9 AM – 1 PM at the Ike Owings Community Center
Step into the spotlight this summer at Dileesa's Performing Arts Camp for children ages 5-13 at the Ike Owings Community Center at Hunter Park (8830 Gurley Rd, Douglasville, GA 30134). This performing arts camp is led by Dileesa Archer, an internationally acclaimed vocal coach and will teach campers to perform popular music, gain confidence, and overcome performance anxiety. Women's Self Defense Class
Saturdays June 24 - August 5 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at the Ike Owings Community Center
Safety first! This course includes the progressive instruction of self-defense techniques for young women to adult women. Students will learn evasive techniques, increased situational awareness, and become familiar with Jujitsu and Jariba System tactics. Registration is open HERE.

Father/Daughter Day Ballet Class
Sunday, June 11 from 11 AM - 12 PM at the Ike Owings Community Center
Calling all fathers and daughters! Join us for a heartwarming father-daughter ballet class where you can create magical memories together. This special class is June 11 from 11 AM - 12 PM for ages: 2 and up. The fee is $25 (per father/daughter pair). In this enchanting dance class, fathers and daughters will learn basic ballet techniques, twirl around the dance floor, and share precious moments together. Space is limited so register HERE.
Father's Day Brunch Activities for 50+

Men (and their loved ones) are invited to join us for a Father’s Day Brunch. Cheer2Motivate
June 12 - June 16, June 20 - June 23, and July 10 - July 14
Learn cheer fundamentals, new cheers, and band dance. Offering mentorship workshops (sharing, building confidence, self-esteem, choosing friends, etc). Space is limited, so register early! Teen volunteers are needed.

West Pines Junior Golf Camp
June 21 - June 23 at West Pines Golf Club
Have your kids learn golf the right way with a session in our summer Junior Golf Camp. West Pines Golf Club conducts a summer Junior Golf Camp for youth ages 7 to 15. Participants will learn the rules of golf, course etiquette, putting, chipping, and swinging fundamentals. This camp has a $125 fee and includes instruction and lunch each day.
