Emery & Webb, Inc. has officially awarded a $10,000 donation to Alzheimer’s Association of the Hudson Valley, a nonprofit committed to raising awareness, supporting caregivers, and funding research to end Alzheimer’s disease. The donation will be used to expand caregiver support groups, host educational events, and accelerate scientific research toward a cure.
Initially, Emery & Webb, Inc. received a $5,000 donation through the Liberty Mutual® and Safeco Insurance® 2025 Make More Happen™ Awards program for its partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association of the Hudson Valley. After their story was featured on the Make More Happen microsite at www.agentgiving.com/emery-webb/, the community rallied with over 500 votes and comments—triggering a matching donation and bringing the total to $10,000.
Alzheimer’s disease touches countless lives across New York, often quietly affecting families and workplaces alike. Emery & Webb knows this struggle firsthand, as many in their agency have lost loved ones or cared for relatives battling the disease.
Agency executive Ed Gentile helped form and now leads an executive leadership committee for the Alzheimer’s Association, responsible for corporate fundraising for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s each October. Emery & Webb is more than a sponsor—they are active participants, organizing a dedicated agency team for the walk and raising funds year-round through personal donations and family support. They also take part in the Sub-Zero Hero Polar Plunge every February, braving icy waters momentarily in exchange for funding long-term caregiver assistance. Last year, Emery & Webb was the #3 corporate team fundraiser for the Association, with dozens walking to honor loved ones and caregivers affected by this devastating disease.
“We hope to foster a workplace culture that supports employees dealing with Alzheimer’s personally or as caregivers,” said Gentile. “Raising awareness is just the start—we want to be part of the solution.”
“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about,” said Matthew Brisk, Senior Territory Manager, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance. “Emery & Webb’s commitment to the Alzheimer’s Association is a powerful example of how local businesses can help drive meaningful change.”
Throughout 2025, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications showcasing their commitment to a specific cause.
