38th Annual Emeryville Art Exhibition
Celebrating the art and artists of Emeryville, this juried group show features more than 100 works created by an impressive pool of Emeryville artists. The exhibition is open to artists of all media, including paintings, sculpture, photographs, prints, drawings, ceramics, textiles, and furniture, along with performance art and poetry. The East Bay enclave of Emeryville is well known for its active and diverse arts community and this exhibition serves as the city’s annual celebration of its thriving collective creativity. Each year a panel of Bay Area art professionals selects the artists and artwork for the annual exhibition. The result is a carefully curated group show offering a sampling of the vast and varied works of local artists and craftspeople.

The Annual Emeryville Art Exhibition is sponsored by Emeryville Celebration of the Arts, Inc.. Independent curator and exhibition designer Kathleen Hanna is curator and juror. The other 2024 jurors are Vicky Kumpfer, Public Art Consultant and Kristen Zaremba, Public Art Coordinator, Cultural Affairs Division, City of Oakland. The exhibition space at Public Market Emeryville is generously donated by Oxford Properties Group.

There will be a gala public reception with the artists in attendance on Friday, October 4, from 6 pm to 9 pm. A no-host bar will raise funds for the Emeryville Youth Art Program.

What: NANCY KARP + DANCERS at Annual Emeryville Art Exhibition
NANCY KARP+ DANCERS perform a new site-specific work at the 38th Annual Emeryville Art Exhibition amidst the artwork of more than 100 artists and craftspeople who live or work in Emeryville. The new work will respond to the volumes and voids to the exhibition space, drawing inspiration from Karp’s studies of nature, particularly the circular patterns of migrating birds.

Sarah Kobrinsky, Emeryville’s former Poet Laureate, hosts a reading of poetry amidst the artwork of more than 100 artists and craftspeople who live or work in Emeryville. Sarah will be joined by local poets reading works inspired by the art on display.
