Evanston Arts Council Seeks Nominations for the 46th Annual Mayor's Awards for the Arts

Evanston, IL - The Evanston Arts Council is seeking nominations for the 46th annual Mayor's Awards for the Arts, which recognizes and honors artists or arts organizations who have made significant contributions to the arts in Evanston. The awards were established in 1979 by former Mayor Jay Lytle. Previous awardees can be found at evanstonarts.org.

Community members are encouraged to nominate an Evanston artist or arts organization by completing the 2024 Mayor’s Awards for the Arts Nomination Form by Friday, November 1. The submission should include the artist or organization’s name and a persuasive statement of up to 500 words on why they deserve the award. 

The winners of the Mayor's Awards for the Arts will be celebrated during “A Bright Night for the Arts,” scheduled for Saturday, December 7, at 6 p.m., at Studio 5, 1934 Dempster Street. Hosted by Mayor Daniel Biss, this celebration of the arts in Evanston is free and open to the community. Please RSVP to attend
