Our Fall For History Festival is a full weekend event starting on Thursday Night where we have a meet and greet with our participants and ends Sunday afternoon.  It's easy to slip into the niche' of our small but hugely Historic town of Wallace Idaho.  The event includes several guided historic home tours, convening with our local historians, attending a banquet style dinner party, a Building Trolley Tour and learn about and see inside of our rich history.  Come on along with us to dive into our past and discover Wallace Idaho.

September 28, 2023

The night kick-off event will feature a quartet of musicians playing Celtic music including jigs, reels and sea chanties, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m at the Blue Raven on Bank Street.

September 29, 2023

morning, we will offer a dance class taught by Joseph Erhard-Hudson, a dance caller recommended by the quartet. He will teach dances that evoke the experience of the Irish immigrants, throwing in historical tidbits and information on other cultures as well.

2:00 p.m Ron Roizen will do a presentation on the life and contributions of Harry Magnuson.

Night will feature a panel discussion by four locals whose family ties to this area date back to the 1880s and early 1900s. Their ethnicities represent Italians, Irish, Swedes and Finns.

September 30, 2023

you will ride through Wallace on a guided trolley tour that will highlight the ethnic influence that gave us our distinctive historic buildings.

Night is the dinner with casino and bingo, you will have your choice or chicken or steak and can make your selection in registration.

October 1, 2023

the historic Homes Tour, you will embark into the living history encapsulated in our neighborhood homes.  Attend the Sunday Circuit Riding Pastor who gives a Sunday Service at 10:00 am

A big "Thank You" to Dave Smith Motors and the Frank Morbeck Foundation for providing seed money to make all this possible. This event is sponsored by the Historic Wallace Chamber of Commerce and is an annual fundraiser for the chamber. We have a spectacular committee that makes this event come together.  If you are looking to visit Wallace for an experience or if you are a "History Buff" please join us.
