LIVE PROFESSIONAL BOXING RETURNS TO BOARDWALK HALL IN ATLANTIC CITY

The family of the late great boxing legend and former world champion, Joe Frazier, will celebrate what would have been Smokin’ Joe’s 80^th birthday with a live boxing card in Atlantic City, NJ, featuring two NABF Champions on Saturday, January 13. Joe Frazier, Jr. Promotions, in association with Danny Swift Garcia Promotions, present "Hooked on Greatness" Celebrating Past & Living Legends with a nine -bout professional boxing card at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ, on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City, NJ.

NABF Bantam champion Dylan Price (16-0, 10 KOs) of Sicklerville, NJ, will meet Gilberto Mendoza (20-17, 10 KOs), of Modesto, CA.

NABF Super Fly Champion Leanna Cruz (7-0), of Allentown, PA, defends her title against Josefina Vega (9-8, 4 KOs), of Quito, Ecuador. 

In a Super Middleweight bout, Denis Douglin (23-8, 15 KOs) of Brooklyn NY, will face Cecil Mccalla (23-5, 10 KOs) of Randallstown, MD.

In a Heavyweight bout, Joey Dawejko (27-10, 15 KOs) of Philadelphia PA, will face Fabio Maldonado (29-8, 28 KOs) of Sorocaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

As part of “Hooked on Greatness,” former boxing champion Roy Jones, Jr., will be at Boardwalk Hall.

As part of the celebration of Frazier’s 80^th birthday, Joe Frazier, Jr., and Garcia will host a series of Christmas Toy Giveaway for children on Tuesday, December 19, all in Atlantic City, including a stop at the Chelsea Club (215 N. Sovereign Avenue) at 3 p.m.; Drexel Club (1010 Drexel Avenue) at 4 p.m., and Teen Center (317 N. Pennsylvania Avenue) at 5 p.m.
