FBI Revision Numbers Show 4.5% Increase in Violent Crime

Government and Politics

October 16, 2024

While Democrats continue to lie about crime being down, the FBI quietly revised their data to reveal the truth: violent crime surged by 4.5 percent under Kamala’s watch in 2022. The updated data exposes the grim reality-80,029 more violent crimes than the previous year. That includes 1,699 additional murders, 7,780 rapes, 33,459 robberies, and 37,091 aggravated assaults.

This spike in crime is a direct result of Kamala Harris’ soft-on-crime policies. Harris has repeatedly pushed to “reimagine” law enforcement, advocating for fewer police on the streets and for diverting funds from law enforcement to other government services. In 2020, she publicly supported redirecting resources away from police departments and applauded Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s decision to cut $150 million from the police budget.

This is a slap in the face to law enforcement. Between 2021 and 2023, 194 police officers were feloniously killed-more than in any other consecutive three-year period in the past two decades. In 2023 alone, 79,091 officers were assaulted, marking the highest rate in 10 years.

President Trump offers a stark contrast; Trump has always had the backs of law enforcement and will continue to support them when re-elected on November 5th. Trump has been by many police groups such as the National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), the largest police union in the country, with over 377,000 members. During his first term, Trump took action to protect officers, signing an executive order to prevent violence against law enforcement, reviving civil asset forfeiture policies, and signing the Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act to support police mental health. President Trump is committed to protecting the ones who put their lives in danger to keep others safe.

Under Kamala Harris, Michiganders don’t feel safe. As of June 2024, 61 percent of registered voters believe the criminal justice system isn’t tough enough on criminals.

A recent Gallup poll shows that 40 percent of Americans—the most in three decades—are afraid to walk alone at night within a mile of their home. Kamala’s failed leadership has left Michiganders vulnerable. President Trump is the only candidate who will restore law and order.
