A note from our Executive Director

Our 74th season was a tremendous success for the GSO. We presented 12 concerts, performed for over 11,000 patrons, and presented the world-premiere performance of Requiem Americano.

In GYSO, 330 students from 14 different counties completed our program. All 44 seniors will attend college, collectively amassing nearly $2 million in scholarship offers.

The GSO gave away almost $50,000 of free tickets to veterans, seniors, and families from low-income neighborhoods within our community. We hosted students and teachers from local schools in open rehearsals and clinics, and we offered a free full orchestral experience for 1000 school-aged children. Altogether, the activities of the GSO contributed over $1 million in economic impact to our community.

Every musician, every audience member, every volunteer, donor, and student plays a vital role in what we create together. It takes a community to make a symphony. We can’t do it without you.

This month we begin our annual Board Match Campaign. Thanks to the generosity of our board members, your contributions will be doubled—up to $15,000—to help us reach our $30,000 goal by June 30. Your support sustains more than performances; it empowers education, accessibility, and innovation.

Why now? In a time of shrinking government support for the arts, the GSO is growing! We’re coming off a year of resounding acclaim and launching our most ambitious season yet: a 75th anniversary celebration filled with inspiring concerts, deeper community outreach, and new ways to bring music to those who need it most.

This is more than a fundraising campaign. It’s an invitation to stand with the GSO and say that music, creativity, and connection matter. Art doesn’t exist in isolation—and neither does a symphony. It takes all of us working together.

One Symphony. One Community. The next movement begins with you. Will you join us?
