The Confrerie D' Abbeville welcomes you to Abbeville's "5000 EGG" Giant Omelette Celebration! Our celebration is like no other festival.

This family-oriented event including a kids world kicks off Saturday morning in Historic Downtown Abbeville.

Abbeville's Magdaline Square with its majestic oaks and old-fashioned gazebo is the setting for the 2 day Arts & Craft Show.

Stop and dance to some of Louisiana's best music.

Antique farm implements provide a challenge to those competing in Saturday's egg cracking contest.

The fun continues on Sunday with the addition of the antique cars on display, along with more music guaranteed to get you dancing.

Grab your seat early for the procession of chefs, eggs, and bread to the Giant 12-foot skillet where fun and follie are the order of the day for those preparing the "5000 Egg" Giant Omelette.

Jacques et la Canne a Sucre (Jack and the Sugar Cane Stalk) will be presented along with Cajun songs and activities. Plan for a 30-minute time slot. Books will be available for purchase.

Procession of Chefs:

Members of the Giant Omelette Celebration march through the streets of Abbeville to greet the crowd. The procession is held on Sunday afternoon and is a sign that the cooking is about to begin.

The "chefs" lead the procession down Concord Street to the 12' skillet. Then....let the cracking begin!!

French Bread provided by Poupart's Bakery is part of the procession. It is cut and served with the Omelette.
