Virtual Program: QPR Suicide Prevention Workshop

QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer - three simple steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide. Join us to learn how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, know how to offer hope, how to get help and save a life. Presented by Barbara Tedesco of UnitedHealthcare. The North Shore Programming Consortium consists of five local libraries (Bayville, Glen Cove, Gold Coast, Locust Valley and Oyster Bay) that have come together to bring our patrons more of a variety in adult programming in a more cost effective way. We hope you enjoy the programs now accessible from the Consortium. This program is hosted by The Oyster Bay Library.
In-Person Program: 12 Infamous NYC Crime Scenes: A Modern Perspective

Retired NYPD Detective Ike Ilkiw offers a behind-the-scenes look at police investigations of crime in New York City. Some topics to be discussed include: the murder of Kitty Genovese and how the media got the story wrong; the strange connection between the Lindbergh kidnapping and the Persian Gulf War; how the capture of a serial killer changed New York City police investigations and more.

Library Walking Club
Every Thursday at 9:15am (weather permitting)
Join us for something new, an at-your-own-pace hour walk every Thursday morning at 9:15 am. We will meet at the Glen Cove Public Library. All fitness levels are welcome, and we encourage everyone to go at their own pace. Our goal is to meet people, keep moving and see sights in Glen Cove.
