Art lecturer Mary Dono will explore many of these artists, art colonies, venues, and benefactors from the 19th through the 21st century. The North Shore Programming Consortium consists of five local libraries (Bayville, Glen Cove, Gold Coast, Locust Valley and Oyster Bay) that have come together to bring our patrons more of a variety in adult programming in a more cost effective way. In-Person Program: How to Reduce the High Costs of Prescriptions

This informative seminar, presented by Senior Services of North America, will provide you with information on the demographics of prescriptions in the U.S. today. Prescription safety and education on how to reduce the cost of medications will be addressed.

New York State Police Recruitment Officers will be at the Glen Cove Public Library to offer information on how to become a State Trooper. Visit the Library to learn more.
Virtual Program: Stony Brook Health Education: Focus on Prostate Cancer

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Join health educators from Stony Brook Cancer Center to learn about prostate cancer. Virtual Program: Written in Stone: In-Depth Study of a Gravestone
Tuesday, September 19 at 7pm
Genealogists use gravestone information to document death information, but oftentimes, a burial marker provides more than biographical information. In this presentation, we will explore types of cemeteries, the anatomy of a marker, and the “hidden” information the marker provides.

Through interactive games, William Pack explores the way our brain is hardwired to believe things that defy logic and facts. He will show how our brains seek out patterns and try to make meaning out of nothing. William will also discuss proven ways to preserve brain health. Library Walking Club
Every Thursday at 9:15am (weather permitting)
Join us for something new, an at-your-own-pace hour walk every Thursday morning at 9:15 am. We will meet at the Glen Cove Public Library. All fitness levels are welcome, and we encourage everyone to go at their own pace. Our goal is to meet people, keep moving and see sights in Glen Cove.
