Gov. Kim Reynolds October 1, 2024 issued a disaster proclamation to ease restrictions on the transportation of materials and repair crews passing through Iowa enroute to Hurricane Helene response areas.  The proclamation temporarily suspends certain regulatory provisions of Iowa Code that pertain to hours of service, weight limits, and registration requirements for electrical repair crews and drivers as part of the disaster response.

The proclamation is effective immediately and expires on October 31, 2024.
