Etta Lane (Mayfield)
Wednesday, August 9th, 1922 - Sunday, December 25th, 2022
GCBC sends our condolences to the family of Etta James who passed away on Christmas day. Visitation is Thursday January 5 from 1pm-2pm. A funeral service will be held at 2pm.  Oakey’s South Chapel (318 Church Ave.) is handling the arrangements.

During months with a fifth Sunday (starting October 30th) we will have a combined Sunday School gathering in the MAC during the 11 o'clock hour. All classes and ages are invited to attend. These "lightly organized" gatherings will serve as a fellowship time for our GCBC folks to get to know each other better.

During the "Gathering", GCBC children and youth activities will be provided. All parents of children and youth are welcome to participate.

At the end of worship each Sunday, we invite those present to donate to our Generosity Box. These donations are over and above our offering, and go directly to our partners and projects. This year, Grandin Court members supported various projects and ministries with over $6,000 in donations! And this doesn't include the donations to PassportKids, Puerto Rico Missions, and donations throughout Advent (which go directly to our RISE campaign for local projects) which total over $1,500! Thank you, GCBC, for many ways you support ministries and work across the street and around the world!

Our sincere thanks to the GCBC family and ministerial staff for the cards and comforting words at the loss of my mom, Audra Dowdy Clevenger.  We will be forever grateful for your kindness and prayers during this time.

“We thank our GCBC family for all the prayers, cards and support during the recent illness and death of Brad’s mother, Lawanda Fitzgerald.  Your expressions of concern and condolences were a great comfort to us.” Sincerely, Brad, Susan, John and William Fitzgerald
