Along with staying hydrated and putting on lots of sunscreen this summer, make sure to swim by a lifeguard when you go to the beach! To stay safe, only go into the water where lifeguards are present and make sure that you know where they are at all times. They're here to keep you safe!

Beach Read of the Week
The Hunger Games
by Suzanne Collins
In the ruins of a continent once known as North America, the nation of Panem stands---and its capitol rules with an iron fist, keeping its 12 districts in line with a yearly event called the Hunger Games. This fight-to-the-death between children aged twelve to eighteen is televised to everyone in the nation to keep them scared and in line.
When Katniss Everdeen steps in for her little sister and takes her place in the games, she treats it as a death sentence. But once she gets going, it's clear to her that she has a chance to win this game---and maybe along the way enact some change.
This classic YA dystopia is turning 15 years old in September. What better way to celebrate than by taking it to the beach with you?
