A Festival For Everyone
Our hallmark event since 2009.  A multi-week, multi-disciplinary cornucopia of arts performances, exhibitions, classes, camps, conversations and parties.

Want to catch every performance we have on tap, or only want to take a class?  Whatever your interest and for however long you want to engage with us during the festival, check out the whole schedule and plan a day, weekend, or attend the entire 2-week festival.  Dozens of unique events are available for you to participate in each summer.  We thrive on offering intimate opportunities, so be sure to sign up for your favorite events early…before they sell out!

Experience the dramatic and transformative techniques of working with a hammer and anvil as well as a more meditative fiber-word method in this 2-day intensive. Ephrat "Bounce" Asherie Dance Masterclass

Join one of Green Box’s featured dancers in this hour-long free masterclass highlighting hip-hop and other street dancing moves that Ephrat is world-famous for. Ephrat "Bounce" Asherie, a 2016 Bessie Award winner for Innovative Achievement in Dance, creates work for the dynamic group of multifaceted dancers in her company Ephrat Asherie Dance (EAD). Rooted in various African American and Latine vernacular dances, including breaking, hip-hop, house and vogue, EAD is dedicated to exploring the inherently complex and dynamic qualities of these forms – Asherie’s "movement phrases–compact bursts of choreography with rapid-fire changes in rhythm and gestural articulation — bubble up and dissipate, quickly paving the way for something new" (The New York Times).?

Highlighting our annual 4th of July Block Party, Green Box is thrilled to welcome Stillhouse Junkies back to Green Mountain Falls, following their artist residency in 2023.  A crowd-thrilling trio, the Durango-bred band offer up a hypnotic and high-energy form of roots music anchored in the free-flowing interplay among the three lifelong musicians (Fred Kosak on guitar and mandolin, Cody Tinnin on upright bass, Alissa Wolf on fiddle). While they’ve gained major traction in the bluegrass world in recent years — including winning the IBMA Momentum Band of the Year award in 2021—Stillhouse?Junkies ultimately inhabit a genre – blurring and subtly inventive sound informed by everything from blues to classical to?Texas swing.

Water Lantern Launch
Come into the Green Box Workshop, Studio #3 before 8PM on July 4th and design your own water lantern which will be launched on Gazebo Lake at the close of our 4th of July Block Party. A full kit will be provided along with various materials to help you embellish your work. You can purchase a kit to design your own lantern for $10.00. You do not have to be in person on the 4th of July to have your lantern be part of the launch! Attendance to the water lantern launch is free.

2023 Green Box Arts Festival favorites, the five-piece chamber ensemble that is the Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra returns with live accompaniment to Charlie Chaplin’s first feature film, The Kid.  Using historic libraries of music to select and fit for each scene in the film, Mont Alto compiles vibrant and emotional scores using the original techniques of silent film orchestras.

Recycling Nature: A Papermaking Workshop with Rachel Singel Limited Availability
Green Box Workshop
Roll up your sleeves and learn to create unique sheets of (Western Style) paper with moulds and deckles and invasive plant fibers. The history of papermaking and its contemporary uses as an art-making material will be discussed.??Be prepared to have fun and make sheets of paper that can be used for drawing, painting, printmaking and 3-D constructions. For additional context, sign up for the Invasive Plant Hike the day before.

Bikinis, one-pieces and trunks are all welcome as we turn the town pool into the Rocky Mountain Riviera!  Swim the night away and enjoy an adult beverage while enjoying friends and watching a beach-themed movie.  This adults-only (18+) party will be a highlight of your summer.

Master Yoga teacher Andrea Lodico returns to Green Box for her fourth year. Classes Wednesday-Saturday are infused with playfulness, dynamic sequencing, and energizing vinyasa flow. Sunday sessions will focus on restorative yoga, a restful practice all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching. All sessions are appropriate for practitioners of all levels

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony – Green Mountain Falls Horse Wellness Meadow
Join us as we celebrate the rich history of horsemanship returning to Green Mountain Falls as we cut the ribbon on this new 30-acre area designed to rehabilitate performance horses in partnership with the Historic Green Mountain Falls Foundation and Elite Equine Rescue.  Learn about upcoming programming and volunteer opportunities.

Judith Piazza is a music therapist, sound healer, educator and explorer of indigenous sound wisdom throughout the world. She has been recognized internationally in the field of music therapy and education for her work with people of all ages. Her dulsitar TM creation was recognized within the top 9 entries of the International Guthman Musical Instrument competition in 2015.

The Hot Toddies Jazz Band recently headlined the outdoor swing dance at Lincoln Center in NYC, and additionally have performed to acclaim at their weekly Gotham Jazz residency. Join the fun with an eclectic mix of styles perfect for dancing, lindy hop and good times!
