Open Hours Book Sale & Gift Wrapping
Thursday, December 22, from 4 to 7 p.m.
The Circle of Friends Book Sale Room will be open for shopping—no appointment necessary! Browse our selection of new and gently-used fiction and nonfiction books, DVDs, audiobooks, puzzles, and games. All items are "name your own price," and proceeds benefit the Groton Public Library.
Our Friends members will also offer free gift wrapping of purchased items or of items you bring from home. Don't miss this special holiday “friend-raiser!”
JUNIOR FRIENDS
Greeting Card Collection Drive: December 1-January 15
The Junior Friends of the Groton Public Library are collecting seasonal or all-occasion greeting cards to benefit Veterans Base Camp in Chaplin, CT. Volunteers fill out the cards or mail packages of cards with stamps to veterans and first responders in nursing homes and hospitals.
Library Helper Day
Thursday, December 8, at 3:30 p.m.
During this busy hour, the Junior Friends will assist Groton Public Library staff in a variety of projects, including preparing craft and program materials, dusting and light cleaning, straightening shelves, and special event preparation.
Crafting for a Cause
Monday, December 12, at 3:30 p.m.
Make cool crafts that will be gifted to local senior citizens, nursing home residents, homebound individuals, and veterans. Limited to Junior Friends members; it’s free to join!
Family Film & Fundraiser
Wednesday, December 14, at 6 p.m.
The Junior Friends will present a showing of a family-friendly film. Refreshments will be for sale with proceeds to benefit the Groton Public Library. Feel free to bring your pillows and blankets as you enjoy the movie on the big screen! Call the Library at (860) 441-6750 for this month’s film title.
