Tinley Park, IL - Locals who love art and handmade items will rejoice to learn of the return of the highly anticipated fall edition of the "Flurry of Makers Artisan Market" on October 15, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This exciting event promises a vibrant fusion of local art, craft, and community spirit.
The Flurry of Makers Market, hosted at Hailstorm Brewing in Tinley Park, offers a dynamic lineup of vendors showcasing everything from exquisite fall apparel to Halloween-themed items and decor. With both indoor and outdoor artist spaces, they are ready to create a fantastic experience, rain or shine. In the event of heavy rain or storms, the market will be moved completed indoors.
The Flurry is open to all ages, and there is ample free on-site and street parking available, making it a hassle-free family outing. John Streetz, the head of the Streetz Artz Alliance(SAA), the driving force behind this event, highlights the significance of supporting local businesses, saying, "In coming out to this chill sip and shop event, you are supporting over two dozen small and local businesses, and also getting some unique and beautifully crafted handmade items."
What sets the Flurry of Makers Market apart is its commitment to curate a diverse mix of artisans, ensuring that every edition of the market offers something new and exciting. The SAA prides itself on creating an intimate and unique atmosphere that distinguishes it from other local markets.
For this edition, the SAA is thrilled to welcome a lineup of talented artists new to the Hailstorm venue, including Robin Power Sculpture, Handmade by Molly, Scary Lair of Doom, Shenanigans Vintage Memorabilia, The Daydreamers Shop, Linda Horton Photography, Becky Blue Designs, Penguino Productions, Prairie 724 Knots, Terri’s Forgotten Forest, McGeever Brothers, Gary L Price, and Metta Clay.
In addition to the great variety and new items, several artists will be giving back to the community by donating a portion of their sales to charity. Some of the charities benefiting from this generosity include Tinley Park PAWS, Saint Judes, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, Wanna Help Outreach, Project Fire Buddies, Homewood Fire Department, Hometown Fire Department, and more.
Food lovers have another reason to visit the Flurry of Makers Market, as Scratchmade Kitchen is bringing its unique culinary creations to the event. Their fall and winter menu includes perfect for fall dishes like potato kale soup with onion, Italian sausage, bacon, kale, and parmesan cheese, sure to warm your soul during the event.
Returning fan favorites, such as Quinncakes by George and Ten Cups Tarot and Creations, are back again, promising some of the best breads and unique tarot readings for all visitors. Or at least bread for all those that get there early as George always sells out before the end of the Flurry. And readings for only those interested in them.
As the fall and winter seasons approach, Hailstorm Brewing has adjusted its hours to accommodate the changing weather. The brewery is closed on Mondays and open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
