SNOW ANGEL - A major work by Sarah Quartel with cello and piano, and gems by Buxtehude, Bruckner, Hailstork, Betinis, Rossi, and more, PLUS the East Coast premiere of Joe Gregorio’s Unbounded Angels. SING ME TO HEAVEN - Eleanor Daley’s exquisite short Requiem and comforting and uplifting works by Schutz, Gawthrop, Sheppard, Arbo, Dave Matthews, and Caldwell and Ivory’s Ain’t No Grave. Saturday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. & Sunday, March 2 at 3 p.m., Morristown United Methodist Church

MAY 2025

ON MY JOURNEY - A full concert by the select Harmonium Chamber Singers with works by Byrd, Howells, Betinis, and more. Saturday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. & Sunday, May 4 at 3 p.m., Grace Episcopal Church, Madison

JUNE 2025

DREAMERS - Melissa Dunphy’s cantata American Dreamers and music by Saunder Choi, Elizabeth Alexander, and much more, including the winners of the 28th annual High School Choral Composition Contest. This concert is in partnership with Wind of the Spirit Immigrant Resource Center of NJ. Saturday, June 7 at 7:30 p.m. & Sunday, June 8 at 3 p.m., Morristown United Methodist Church

OCTOBER 26TH - HALLOWEEN CONCERT at Grace Episcopal Church, Madison.

DECEMBER 31ST - First Night Morris, Morristown.

JANUARY 12TH - Violins of Hope: Singing Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms in collaboration with the New Jersey Youth Symphony, New Jersey Youth Chorus, and Somerset Hills Chorus, NJPAC in Newark.

FEBRUARY 8TH - BROADWAY CABARET, Ukrainian American Cultural Center, Whippany.

STAY TUNED FOR DATE - Spring Workshop on Latin American music for singers and conductors with Diana Saez.

Auditions

Auditions open August 25th for the 2024-2025 concert season.

Harmonium Choral Society will be conducting auditions for a limited number of openings in all voice parts for experienced singers with good sight-reading ability.

Auditions will be held by appointment starting August 25th going through September 4th and held at Grace Church in Madison with Artistic Director Dr. Anne Matlack.

Welcome New Board Members

Elizabeth Monkemeier

Music Teacher

In her first of what she thinks will be many years in Harmonium. Elizabeth is a middle school music teacher at the Peck School in Morristown, where she teaches band and orchestra to grades 5-8. She also serves on the North Jersey School Music Association Executive Board as recording secretary.

Dan Greenfield

Senior Manager in Finance at Anywhere Real Estate

Dan has been with Harmonium and the Harmonium Broadway Cabaret Troupe since 2023. Dan, is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor's degree with a double major in music and psychology from Muhlenberg College and an MS in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson.

Louise Karger

Retired Physician

Louise has sung with Harmonium for over 20 years. She is a section leader in Harmonium and is in the leadership group of her local community garden where she organizes the food deliveries to the Interfaith Food Pantry. Additionally, Louise volunteers teaching chair yoga at several senior centers.
