Carpentry Basics: Measure Twice, Cut Once

Only a few spots remain for this Saturday's class, which will be at the Architectural Parts Warehouse at 89 Lexington Ave. from 10am-noon.

In this class, the instructor, Ian Stewart, will teach participants the secrets and mysteries of the tools of measurement: the tape measure, the speed square, and the framing square. Also, on the table for discussion will be the combination square, and the sliding bevel gauge. Tips, shortcuts, and tricks of the trade will be imparted. After this the appropriate use of hand saws and circular saws will be taught. Crosscut saws, rip saws, dovetail saw, framing saws, coping saws. With so many saws to choose from, how do you know which is the right one? This class is designed to help with that.
