From: Hobbs State Park-Conservation AreaRogers, AR - Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area will host a beekeeper program on Sunday, May 21, at 2 p.m., at the park’s visitor center, 20201 E. Highway 12, Rogers. The program is free and open to the public.
Two members of the Northwest Arkansas Beekeepers Association, Mel Zabecki and Scott Brinker, will discuss beekeeping, including common mistakes they and many other beekeepers make. With 30 years of beekeeping experience between them, Zabecki and Brinker will talk about their favorite things about beekeeping (like the amazing life of bees and the sweet reward of honey). They will bring tools of the trade, and if weather permits, bees.
The experts will answer common questions, including: What beekeeping equipment do I need? How do I get my bees? How much will beekeeping cost? Zabecki and Brinker will discuss how pollination by bees increases vegetable garden production, with plants producing larger and more uniform fruits.
