This illustrated program explores 19th century whaling through the lens of crew life, ship design, global trade, and the evolution of the industry -- from New Bedford to the Arctic and beyond.
The lecture also features Sister Sailors: Whaling Wives, spotlighting the women who sailed alongside their husbands. With live demonstrations of baleen and harpoons, this dynamic presentation brings the world of whaling vividly to life.
