D1 Training, a leading fitness concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training, is opening a new location in Arcadia at 2303 N 44th St on Feb. 19. The group fitness facility employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals. Arcadia will be the first of five D1 locations that franchisees Justin and Tiffany Whalen will open in the Phoenix area over the next five years.

In celebration of the new location’s launch, Arcadia neighbors and residents are encouraged to stop by and meet the facility’s team.

Justin and Tiffany Whalen will join a roster of impressive existing franchisees and owners some of which include professional athletes such as Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, Tim Tebow and Michael Oher. Plus, with more than 20 years of experience in the business industry, the Whalen’s are poised for success as business owners in the fitness space. Justin Whalen began his career with General Electric as Regional Director before joining forces with his wife to build their family mortgage business. The husband-wife duo has always had a passion for athletics, both being former D1 athletes. While watching their daughters Lily and Finley become involved in athletics, they knew they wanted to launch a business to foster a safe and proven training model.

Their desire to coach youth athletics coupled with their passion to give back to the community, led them to D1 Training where they hope to help grow, develop, and evolve athletes of any age to be the best versions of themselves.

“Our goal for D1 Training Arcadia is to create a community hub where athletes of all levels can reach their athletic potential,” said Justin Whalen. “From seeing firsthand the proven results from D1 Training in our children’s athletic performance, to aligning so closely with the D1 home team, we know this partnership will be more than successful. We cannot wait to welcome the Arcadia community to our new location and grow our legacy as THE location for peak athletic performance.”

D1 Training offer four age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18) and D1 Adult. Each fitness program is based on the five athletic-based tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down. Outside of group workouts, D1 Training offers one-on-one training with world-class coaches. The goal is simple: to continue to train athletes who are dedicated to their sport or their fitness goals, regardless of age or athletic background.

“The Whalen’s are the ideal candidate to bring the D1 Training experience to Arcadia,” said the brand’s Chief Operating Officer, Dan Murphy. “We’re thrilled to welcome them to the D1 family and are confident in their ability to show the Arcadia area what they’ve been missing out on. D1 is a one-of-a-kind fitness experience that’s built around the individual and meant to help people meet their appropriate edge. Our strong network of franchisees embodies our core values to bring the D1 Training vision to life, and we know the Whalen’s will do just that in Arcadia and its surrounding communities.”

Strategically expanding across the nation through franchising, D1 Training has more than 85 performance centers open with over 200 additional locations in various stages of development. The brand is currently seeking qualified and active community members to expand its footprint and help more people meet their fitness goals.
