Main Street Vermilion is getting ready for the 14th year of Ice A Fair, a wonderful day filled with winter family fun in downtown Vermilion and family fun. Thank you to Shores and Islands Ohio and the Erie County Community Foundation for their ongoing generous support of Ice A Fair, as well as that of more than 50 local businesses who sponsored sculptures, the Frozen Playspace and Fire and Ice.

Plenty of Glistening, Glittery Ice Sculptures
Stroll through downtown Vermilion and enjoy the display of glittering ice sculptures that line the walkways. You’ll find lots of selfie opportunities along the way, too. Our local businesses and individuals make all this possible for your winter visit in our summertime town.

Neighborhood Trolley Tours
Hop aboard the Trolley sponsored by Brummer’s Chocolates and enjoy a look at the ice carvings and enjoy a narrated tour of the historic Harbourtown neighborhood and downtown Vermilion. Trolley boards in the center of downtown and leaves on the hour. $2 per person/ $5 per family

Live Demonstrations
A schedule of ice carvings that take a block of ice from simple to spectacular will be shared closer to the event. You’ll be amazed at these demonstrations of skill and artful expression.

Frozen Play Space
A kid favorite in 2022, we’re bringing back the Frozen Play Space with new activities and a fun selfie moment. The super slippery ice slide and football toss will entertain the kids during your visit. Take advantage of a cool photo op with the frozen polar bear.

Pete and Jolly
Ice A Fair mascots, Pete the Penguin and Jolly the Snowman return with their usual silliness as they greet guests throughout downtown. Big hugs and high fives free for the asking.

Fire and Ice
A visit to Ice A Fair isn’t complete without the spectacular Fire and Ice display. A beautifully carved ice chimney houses a roaring fire. Set to music and featuring fire dancers, it’s a 30 minute mesmerizing display where you watch as the fire brings down the chimney….or will the melting ice douse the fire?  You won’t know until the end! Join everyone in the middle of downtown at 6PM to watch it happen.

Melt Down Party! Tickets are SOLD OUT!
Wind down your visit to Ice A Fair with a very “cool” party. Doors open at 7PM at the Vermilion Boat Club, 5416 Liberty Avenue, just a short walk from the center of downtown. Enjoy a wonderful selection of foods to warm you up including Butternut Squash Soup, Pulled Pork Sliders, a Mac and Cheese Bar, Caesar Salad and a selection of desserts. Cash bar available, too! Raffle tickets will be sold for Cold Hard Cash (win $1,000) and other great prizes including Guardians and Cavs tickets and 6 months of car washes!
