In case you missed it, the family of former President Gerald Ford is setting the record straight. 

“I know my dad, President Gerald Ford, as a lifelong member of the Republican Party who would typically not vote for a Democrat as president and certainly not Kamala Harris,” said Jack Ford, son of President Ford, to the Detroit News. 

Why? 

“Ford put country above party, Jack Ford says. And that is what would have led the former president to vote for Trump.

“In this election, Ford says his dad’s message would have been the same as it always was.

“Country first. What’s the best thing for America?” Ford says. “He would not support Kamala.”

Susan Ford Bales, former President Gerald Ford’s daughter, issued a statement this week endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election. 

But Jack Ford, the former president’s son, says his father would have taken a different approach.

“I think he would definitely be a Republican voter and vote for Trump,” Ford says.
