LANSING — NBC News reported today that Mike Rogers refuses to condemn Donald Trump’s “insulting comments about Detroit the day before” where “Trump called Detroit, Michigan’s most populous city, a ‘developing area’ and said the whole country would end up ‘like Detroit’ if Harris is elected.”
Trump has faced widespread condemnation for his disparaging remarks about Detroit – and Rogers refuses to stand up to him in support of Michigan’s largest city.
“Mike Rogers will say and do anything to advance his own interests, including tearing down Detroit. Rogers has made it clear that there’s nothing he won’t sell out to benefit himself, even if it’s at the expense of Michigan,” said Michigan Democratic Party spokesperson Sam Chan.
