JERSEY CITY - Effective this Saturday, June 28, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will conclude overnight closures of the Holland Tunnel tube that carries vehicular traffic to New Jersey. The tube had been closed during overnights from Sundays through Fridays each week for repairs and resiliency improvements. The final closure of the New Jersey-bound tube will take place from 11:59 p.m. tomorrow evening, Friday, June 27, to 9 a.m. Saturday, June 28. 

Additionally, effective Sunday, June 29, and until further notice, one single lane will be closed in both directions of traffic in the Holland Tunnel five nights per week for routine maintenance. The overnight lane closures will take place Sundays through Thursdays. 

New York-bound tube: Single lane closed 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day. 

New Jersey-bound tube: Single lane closed 11:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the next day. 

All lanes will be open Friday nights and Saturday nights. The Port Authority may conduct full tunnel closures once every six months to a year for testing of flood protection equipment. The agency will provide advance notice prior to such closures.
