?Step into the heart of artistic innovation as you explore the Festival of Art, a showcase brimming with diverse fine artists whose talents span a wide spectrum of mediums – from evocative painting to intricate glasswork, from timeless pottery to captivating fiber creations, and from mesmerizing photography to exquisite jewelry designs.
?The downtown area will come alive with Hastings Main Street's annual Fall Festival, a cherished tradition that adds an extra layer of excitement to the event. Revel in the sounds of live music while wandering through the charming cottage industry vendor area, where unique treasures await discovery. Savor delectable offerings from an array of food trucks and watch young faces light up in the engaging kids' zone.
?Adding historical depth and authenticity, two of the original Highwaymen artists, R. L. Lewis and Curtis Arnett will take center stage, enchanting attendees with live art demonstrations and guest appearances from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. This infusion of heritage and artistry adds a unique dimension to an already remarkable event.
Renowned railroad historian Dr. Seth H. Bramson will take the stage at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., offering an enchanting lecture on the profound impact of Henry Flagler and the Florida East Coast Railway on Hastings. Dr. Bramson will also be available to sign copies of his book, "The Florida East Coast Railway: America's Speedway to Sunshine for Over 125 Years."
?Join us at the festival to watch a captivating video presentation by Dr. Keri Watson, highlighting the remarkable landscape painters known as the Florida Highwaymen. For centuries, Florida's mesmerizing scenery has served as a muse for artists like Titian Ramsay Peale, John James Audubon, Harriet Beecher Stowe, and the renowned Florida Highwaymen. Dr. Watson, the Assistant Director of the School of Visual Arts and Design at the University of Central Florida, will guide us through this artistic journey. The Bozard Music Field, 408 North Main Street
Experience the rich tapestry of local music at the Bozard Music Field. The day begins at 10:30 a.m. with Palatka's young singer-songwriter Damon Slaughter, followed by the Hendricks Band at 11:45 a.m., offering a blend of original and familiar easy-listening music. James Statzer and the Statz Band will get you dancing with high-energy performances of classic and contemporary rock songs at 12:45 p.m. The day concludes with Bad Dog Mama, a quirky, female-fronted duo, performing from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Stanton Art & Craft Field, 109 West Lattin Street
Discover a bustling space with over 80 artists and vendors showcasing their cottage industry wares, from art and jewelry to clothing, artisan-crafted knives, wood carvings, sculpture, and more. Perfect for finding unique pieces just in time for the holiday season. Local entertainer Joe Rocco will provide entertainment from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kid's Zone, 109 West Lattin Street
Children are in for a treat at the Kid's Zone! Mrs. Claus will enchant with a storytelling concert from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Dynamic storytelling performances by the Tale Tellers of St. Augustine will continue the child-friendly artistry. Kids can also contribute to a community art project by painting a tile displayed in downtown Hastings.
Lattin Street
Special performances by members of Venardos Circus await festival-goers, showcasing juggling, stilt walking, and hand balancing at 10:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. The Bookmobile and OneBlood bus will be parked along Lattin Street, offering the opportunity to donate blood while enjoying a good book. Sade's Tropical Delights and Moo's Coffee provide post-donation refreshments.
North Main Street
Vendors and entertainment will be scattered throughout North Main Street, including living historian Michelle Murillo, who will share captivating tales of Hastings' history, including its designation as the Potato Capital. Don't miss the chance to visit local favorite Norma D's Kitchen for fresh café fare.
Food Truck Field, 401 North Main Street
Indulge in the culinary arts with seven food trucks on-site, offering a variety of options: Luvin' Oven, Mister Softee, Baked & Frosted, My Mom's BBQ, Mumbai Delight, Kona Ice, and Sunrise Brew Coffee.
