May 20, 2025

FRANKFORT, KY - This weekend, the Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) will launch the next wave of Growing the Blue Dot, the KDP’s year-round regional training program for county parties and Democratic leaders across the state. This grassroots organizing strategy underscores KDP’s commitment to growing Democratic power in every corner of the Commonwealth, enabling Democrats to run, win and ultimately defeat the harmful GOP agenda in 2026 and beyond.

“While Republicans are attacking food assistance, health care and Social Security, the KDP is investing in building a statewide infrastructure of Kentuckians who care about our Commonwealth,” said KDP Chair Colmon Elridge. “Kentucky needs representatives who will do right by hardworking families instead of bowing down to billionaires. This training will help build the robust infrastructure Democrats need to make that happen.”

Building upon the first round of Growing the Blue Dot, this next round of training will provide local leaders with the tools they need to recruit volunteers, grow their footprint, engage in effective messaging and more, ensuring that every community is ready to engage in meaningful year-round organizing efforts.

“Just like fighting the GOP’s cruel agenda, building party infrastructure is a long-term, statewide effort,” said KDP Executive Director Morgan Eaves. “Doubling down on this important work now will lead to greater electoral success — and that means better, more affordable lives for every Kentucky family.”

Growing the Blue Dot trainings will be held in six cities across the state, featuring different topics each quarter.  Virtual trainings will also be held on a regular basis Additional details and logistics information on training will be provided to county parties and volunteers.
