Kendall Qualls Is a Far-Right Culture Warrior, Not Minnesota's Next Governor

Government and Politics

ST PAUL - On May 12, 2025, the Minnesota DFL Party released the following statement after far-right culture warrior and two-time failed candidate Kendall Qualls announced his third run for political office.

“Kendall Qualls is a far-right culture warrior obsessed with defunding public schools and trying to take away Minnesotans’ access to health care and reproductive freedom,” said Minnesota DFL Chair Richard Carlbom. “Minnesotans don’t want leaders who embrace that kind of extremism, which is why they have already rejected Kendall Qualls twice. If he manages to survive the chaotic and divisive Republican primary, the Minnesota DFL will be ready to hold Kendall Qualls accountable for his plans to bring the chaos and extremism of the Trump administration to Minnesota government.”

Qualls supports repealing the Affordable Care Act, which would force hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans off their health insurance, defunding public schools to subsidize private school vouchers, and strongly opposes abortion rights, describing himself as “100% pro-life.”
