The Kingman Police Department is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $24,829.48 grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety under the Traffic Records Program for materials and supplies that will include mobile data computers, docking stations and accessories. The purpose of the Traffic Records Program is to enhance and improve the collection and analysis of statistical data related to traffic safety throughout the State of Arizona. Kingman Police officers utilize a software program called AZ TraCS which is used by agencies across Arizona which enhances the collection and analysis of the data as it relates to traffic contacts, crash investigations, impaired drivers, traffic enforcement and safety. This program and the purchase of mobile data computers, reduces the amount of time required for an officer to be in the station to process the paperwork and it improves the efficiency as the officer can do it in the field; thereby reducing response times for calls for service and permitting officers to be more proactive enforcing traffic laws and public safety. The Kingman Police Department is dedicated to providing modern and efficient traffic enforcement.
