Get into the spirit of Krampus on Sunday, December 8, 2024, as Blue Island's Krampus Market takes over Olde Western Avenue from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. This festive event, curated by the Streetz Artz Alliance, is free to attend, family-friendly, and spans three vibrant locations:  

Blue Island Beer Company: 13357 Olde Western Ave.  

Rock Island Public House: 13328 Olde Western Ave.  

BUB Café (Butter Upon Bacon Café): 13311 Olde Western Ave.  

A Market Like No Other  

The Krampus Market features over four dozen local artists showcasing an eclectic mix of handmade goods. From resin horror ornaments and 3D canvas art to wearable creations like fascinators, dresses, and backpatched flannels, there’s something for everyone. Shoppers will find botanical art, pet toys, original paintings, artisanal foods, and Krampus-themed decorations, promising an unforgettable blend of creativity and holiday charm.  

Three Locations, Unique Experiences  

Blue Island Beer Company hosts the largest group of artists, offering a variety of craft beers, sodas, and mixed drinks. The brewery will feature the Krampus Throne in the Way Back Room, where guests can meet Krampus, played by Power Metal Cosplay, who will be roaming throughout the day. Brianne Adelman curates the venue’s festive playlist.  

Rock Island Public House is a hub for pinball and arcade enthusiasts. Complementing the games is a well-stocked menu of craft beers and cocktails to keep spirits high.  Six artists will be setup here.

BUB Café joins the Krampus Market for the first time, adding cozy holiday vibes and live music by Steve Lydell from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., performing soulful renditions of holiday classics.  Twelves artists are planned for this location.

Food, Drinks, and Fun 

Gourmet options abound, including freshly roasted coffee, homemade hot sauces, and artisanal cookies. Unique, functional gifts like stainless steel tumblers, hand-sewn bags, and crocheted scarves make the market a perfect stop for holiday shoppers.  

“This year’s Krampus Market is bigger and better,” says John Streetz, organizer of the Streetz Artz Alliance. “Adding BUB Café to the event lineup enhances the experience, giving attendees more to explore.”
