July 31, 2025

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: The Fête du Vin Grand Tasting!

In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the French AOC system (founded August 1, 1925), we are hosting a month-long celebration of French wines at Twin Cities Wine Education! Along with special guests, Julien and Megan Martel of Rouge Bordeaux B&B in France, we present the most extensive French wine tasting in MSP in 2025.

Each table will be grouped by geography, with the top experts in the Twin Cities pouring the wines. Champagne, Northern Rhône, Southern Rhône, Beaujolais, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Loire Valley, and more will be represented! Wander the room with a glass in hand, traveling from region to region while you explore some of the best French wines available to Minnesota consumers. Special emphasis will be on the direct imports found by some of our outstanding local purveyors.

Over 50 wines from at least eight regions will be available for your enjoyment and education. We'll have French music in the air, and we hope you pull out a striped shirt and a beret for the fun!

August 11, 2025

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Bordeaux Wine, Culture and Travel

This is going to be the most comprehensive Bordeaux class of the year!

We'll start (with wine in hand, of course) with a comprehensive overview of the history, geography, and grape varieties of Bordeaux (including the new authorized varieties and a story about long-lost grape varieties). Regardless of your knowledge level of Bordeaux, you'll leave smarter!

Then we'll shift into learning about the travel and culture of Bordeaux with our special guests, Megan and Julien, directly from the region. You'll get hints, tips, and tons of insider information on Bordeaux city (including best markets and restaurants), tourist traps to avoid, hidden gems to explore, and an overview of living in Bordeaux, changes they are seeing, and how best to visit the area.

The goal of this class is simple: have a blast learning about one of the most important regions in the world of wine, while sipping great examples, and hearing stories and information that only insiders can bring you.

Throughout the class, we'll keep your glasses topped up with some fantastic wines from throughout the area, finishing off with a delicious gem from a property just a stone's throw from Megan and Julien's house.

As part of our Frenchie Fest celebration—a month-long tribute to the wines, regions, and joie de vivre of France—we invite you to a sparkling evening dedicated to Champagne and Crémant. These beloved bubbles are cornerstones of French wine culture, and this class will take you on a journey through their history, traditions, and distinct regional styles. From the prestigious vineyards of Champagne to the charming Crémant-producing regions like Alsace and the Loire Valley, we'll explore what makes each glass a celebration of French craftsmanship.

You'll taste a curated lineup of both Champagne and Crémant, learning how production methods, grape varieties, and terroir influence flavor and texture. Along the way, we'll decode labels, share pairing tips, and reveal why these wines deserve a place at both grand occasions and casual gatherings. Whether you're a Francophile, a bubble enthusiast, or simply curious, this sparkling soirée is the perfect way to toast to all things French.
