MassMu History Discussion Group - 'Massillon Trivia'

Arts and Entertainment

October 29, 2025

From: Massillon Museum
What was the name of Massillon’s city bus line? Who was Ralph “Hap” Fugate? Who threw a wreath into the river to dedicate the Lincoln Way Viaduct? What was Dreamland? Where was the beer cave?

It’s time for the annual trivia time for the Massillon Museum History Discussion Group. Local historians Rudy Turkal and Margy Vogt will challenge attendees with Massillon history questions at the next session on Tuesday, November 4, 10:00 a.m. to noon.  Attendance is free and everyone is welcome.

“There’s no need to study for the game,” Vogt said. “Most of the questions are planned to be fun for guests whether they know local history or not.” Some will be multiple choice, some will be plays on words, and others will be common sense. She says correct answers, funny responses, and outrageously wrong guesses will be rewarded with “fabulous” prizes.

The event is held in the Fred F. Silk Community Room in the Museum’s lower level. The Museum is fully accessible. Pastries and coffee are available for a donation.

Some people attend every session-the first Tuesday of every month.  Others attend just when the topic especially interests them. Some guests engage actively in the conversations; others simply enjoy listening. No reservations are necessary.
