Mathnasium Learning Centers, an internationally known franchise with over 1,100 math-tutoring centers worldwide, announced a Back-to-School and Open House event at its Fayetteville location. The center, located at 284 GA-Highway 314, Suite D, is owned and operated by Zulna L. Heriscar.

Event Details:

To ensure her local community is prepared for back-to-school success, Heriscar hosted a free Back-to-School and Open House event on Aug. 17 from 12-1:30 pm. Sponsored by Chase Bank and Staples, the event provided school supplies, backpacks, and school essentials to students and parents. Attendees had the chance to participate in a raffle for a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop Computer. Although this was the first event of its kind, Heriscar plans to make it an annual occurrence, with the goal of including vendors in future events. This year, the focus was solely on Mathnasium's efforts to support the community.

Fayetteville’s Dedicated Center Owner

Zulna L. Heriscar, the local owner of Mathnasium in Fayetteville, is an accomplished tech sales leader with over 20 years of executive experience at Microsoft. A first-generation immigrant, Heriscar was deeply inspired by her late mother, Marie Rose Paul-Herisca, a passionate advocate for education from Haiti.

Following her mother’s passing in 2022, Heriscar sought to make a meaningful impact, leading her to open a Mathnasium Learning Center as a tribute to her mother’s legacy and a way to support the community. In 2005, Heriscar and her mother established a scholarship in partnership with The George Snow Foundation, which has awarded over 20 scholarships to deserving youth. The scholarship was renamed in her mother’s honor in 2022, reflecting Heriscar’s ongoing commitment to advancing educational opportunities in her community.

“We’re excited to give back to our community and help students gear up for a successful school year,” said Heriscar. “Our upcoming event is a wonderful opportunity for families to collect essential school supplies and discover how Mathnasium can support their children’s education.”

Mathnasium Learning Centers specialize in math-only tutoring and are committed to providing the world’s best instruction. The goal: meet students where they are and teach children math in a way that makes sense to them. For decades the Mathnasium Method™ has transformed the way kids learn math — building students’ understanding of math concepts through personalized instruction and an individualized learning plan — all while producing tremendous results, and helping students K-12 achieve their full potential in math and in life.

“At Mathnasium, we’re here to support families every step of the way. We don’t just focus on rote memorization; we teach in a way that truly resonates with kids and fosters deep understanding,” added Heriscar. “I’m looking forward to the open house, where parents can see our approach in action. If your child is having difficulties, our personalized learning plans are designed to help them really grasp concepts and build on them with confidence.”
