A visit to Tina’s Baskets and Woven Art is a journey into a realm of intricate hand-woven pieces, ranging from baskets and bowls to sculptures and wall hangings. Inspired by Tina's vivid imagination, each piece is a testament to her mastery of hand-dyed reeds, woven into dynamic shapes and vibrant color palettes. The inclusion of Bittersweet Vine, foraged from the woods near Tina's Connecticut home, infuses each creation with natural beauty and unique character. This vine often dictates the form of Tina's baskets, bowls, wall hangings, and sculptures, making each piece one-of-a-kind.
For those eager to learn the art of weaving, Tina offers classes for teens and adults of all skill levels, accommodating up to six participants per session. Classes are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with mini-sessions available in the mornings and afternoons. Additionally, Monday and Friday evenings feature classes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Participants will leave with their own handcrafted basket or bowl, complete with locally foraged bittersweet vine or a wooden hoop, and hand-colored custom reeds.
