On Memorial Day, it’s Customary to spend time Remembering and Honoring the men and women who died while in the military service of our country. Join us on Memorial Day and throughout the Weekend to create new memories and traditions at this special venue dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of American Soldiers.

Friday, May 26 - Sunday 28, 2023

Outdoor Flag Display - Follow a special outdoor flag display along the Path of Remembrance and the Unit Tribute wall.
All day.

Poppy Paper Flower Craft - The red poppy is a nationally recognized symbol of sacrifice worn by Americans since World War I to honor those who served and died for our country in all wars. Create a paper poppy as part of a special Museum Memorial Day display. Experiential Learning Center.

Hands-On History - Explore equipment and uniforms like American Soldiers have used in U.S. Army history.
10 a.m.- 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.- 3 p.m. Museum Lobby.

Memorial Day Remembrance and Moment of Silence - A call to remember their lives, their courage, their legacy and their service. Join Museum staff, volunteers and other visitors for the playing of taps and a moment of silence.
10 a.m. Museum Lobby.

Documentary Screening - "Dear Sirs: A Personal Journey Through World War II 75 Years Later" After discovering an archive detailing the horrifying journey of his grandfather as an American POW during World War II, a young man from Wyoming sets out 75 years later to retrace his footsteps across Germany on bicycle, piecing together an untold story in an effort to understand the man who helped raise him. Mark Pedri, director and Carrie McCarthy, producer.

National Moment of Silence - Visitors and staff are asked to pause for one minute to honor and respect those who died for our freedom.
3 p.m. Throughout the Museum.
