Schools and Libraries
April 24, 2023
It's National Library Week! This is a celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives.
This year's theme is "There's More to the Story". Libraries are full of stories in a variety of formats from picture books to novels, audiobooks, digital downloads, and so much more. All libraries are unique, adding much more to their stories.
Take us for example. We lend items like museum passes, Chromebooks, and seeds for your gardens. Our Library Without Walls (Library WoW) brings the library directly to the community, tailoring materials and services offered to each visit. The Business and Nonprofit Center (BANC) is our one-stop shop for nonprofit organizations and entrepreneurs offering classes, workshops, and networking opportunities. Our Genealogy department helps people trace their lineage and learn more about moments in history.
Your own stories are also an important part of our story. Without you, there would be no us. We appreciate you for choosing our libraries for your information needs. We enjoy getting to know you when you hang out in our libraries and participate in our programming. We love watching you reach your goals, hearing about your success stories, and sharing moments in your lives. We are so grateful for our supporters, our advocators, and our volunteers. You are the reason we do what we do and can do what we do.
So here's to libraries. Here's to you. Here's to us. Happy National Library Week and as always...
