FOR READERS
What's New in eBooks
Have you tried reciprocal lending? MARINet (our consortium) has partnered with NorthNet and the Peninsula Library System to share access to each other's Overdrive ebooks. You can now add these libraries to your Libby app using your MARINet library card number. It works like its physical-item cousin LINK+ - if there's a digital title with no holds on it available in their collections, you can borrow it with the ease of tapping a screen. See other libraries' collections folded into your search results and expand your ebook horizons!
Early adopters can also try the Palace Project app. Developed by a library-focused non-profit, Palace offers a free collection of additional eBooks and eAudiobooks and also works with our Overdrive collection. Setup is easy and the feeling of being cutting-edge and adventurous will be pleasant indeed.
Trouble setting up either service? Contact the reference desk and we can help you out.
FOR ADULTS AND TEENS
Mending Meetup
Saturday, January 14th | 2pm
Creekside Room
Do you have an old sweater or pair of pants that could use some TLC? Come mend with us! Bring items in need of buttons, hems, patches, darning, etc and give your best-loved clothes a second life. Feel free to bring your own mending supplies or use ours, free of charge!
This program is open to adults with any level of craftiness or sewing experience. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and share with one another and have the assistance of one of our craftiest librarians.
Registration recommended. Click to register.
FOR TEENS
Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
TAB Returns Tuesday, January 3rd!
Conference Room, 4pm
Do you want your voice to be heard in the library and earn volunteer hours? Join Mill Valley Library’s Teen Advisory Board! The TAB meets every other Tuesday of every month (some Tuesdays TBD). TAB meetings will be in-person in the Library’s Conference room. Meetings may be available on Zoom for those who can't make it in person. More days will be added based on programs or outreach events teens are currently planning.
Email Librarian Jasmyn at [email protected] for TAB information and to sign up! Middle school and high school students only.
