Vignettes: An Evening of Original Chamber Music
Friday, December 8th | 7:00pm

Join us for an intimate evening of original music written in Mill Valley by local composer Andrew Vickers, who is most influenced by Brahms, Debussy, and Phillip Glass. Program includes a selection of his original Piano Vignettes, a Cello and Viola duo, and the premier of Vickers’ Color Quartet. For more information on the musicians, click here.

Andrew Vickers received a Master of Composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he studied under David Garner. His work has been performed by orchestras and chamber ensembles across the Bay Area and featured in films, podcasts, and documentaries. The SF Examiner describes Vickers’ music as “cosmic with a quietude of the vast universe.” He lives in Mill Valley with his wife and young family.

Join American mycologist, naturalist, and writer, David Arora, as he talks about meetings with remarkable mushroom hunters.

Growing up in California, Arora was drawn to the diverse ecosystems that surrounded him, sparking an early interest in mushrooms and fungi. He is now known for his profound knowledge of mushrooms and his dedication to educating the public about the fascinating world of fungi. He is celebrated for his acclaimed book Mushrooms Demystified which is highly regarded for its mushroom keys and descriptions. Arora's talk is sure to be a fun, engaging, and informative adventure!.
