On the 23rd anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, the Missouri Democratic Party released the following statement:

“On Sep 11th, will forever be remembered as one of the darkest days in our nation’s history, and we will never forget the 2,977 lives stolen from us in the heinous terrorist attacks 23 years ago. As we reflect on this heartbreaking anniversary, we cannot help but feel deep gratitude for the law enforcement officers and first responders who traveled from across the country to answer the grim call to search for survivors and bring those fallen home to their families,” said Missouri Democratic Party Vice Chair Yvonne Reeves- Chong.

“Our nation is at its best when we come together for each other and to defend the hard-earned freedoms fought for by countless American soldiers and veterans. We owe these heroes who have lost their lives or left pieces of themselves in dark places a great debt for their patriotism and for our comfort here at home.”
